Gears and Winches

ZOLLERN is a key supplier of gears used in mobile cranes, dockyard and harbour cranes, shipboard, deck and offshore cranes, construction machinery and wind power stations. The gears are designed according to a modular principle, allowing planetary gear sets to be plugged together in line with specific customer requirements in 18 modular gear stages with ratios of between 3.2 and 8.1 per planetary module stage.

The multifunctional nature of the planetary gear stages permits series production of the individual gear components. These standard gear parts are then assembled, incorporating one or two customer-specific components, to create a bespoke gear in line with the requirements.

As the name suggests, this ZOLLERN product range can be optionally used in the production of hoisting or towing winches, slewing units, planetary gears and special gears.

ZOLLERN manufactures gears from high-strength case-hardened and tempered materials. All externally toothed gears are case-hardened, and the tooth flanks are ground, depending on the module in question, to quality 6 to 7. The ground tooth flanks create an increased load contact area and ensure less noise in operation. The rope winches as well as the planetary gears and slewing units can be supplemented as required using suitable additional components such as winch pedestals, ropes, pressure rollers, parking brakes, hydraulic motors, brake valves, electric motors and control systems with frequency converter.
