Sand cast components of G-X 4 Cr Ni 13 4

Steel G-X 4 Cr Ni 13 4 (1.4313) is corrosion resistant, high-strength and demonstrates good abrasion and erosion resistance, making it the preferred material for water turbine components.

In this case:
Francis rotor disks with a weight of 590 kg. The parts are finish machined, ground and statically balanced.

Sand cast components for a cooling water pump

The photo depicts the pump housing made of CuAl10Fe5Ni5-C for the cooling water pump of ship's diesel engine. The weight of the finish machined part is appr. 25 kg. The illustrated rotor disk is cast in the same material.
The elbow is made of CuSn12-C.Corrosion resistance as well as pressure-tight casting and good cavitation resistance are required.

Sand cast components for ship's propulsion system

Propellers for ship propulsion systems are subject to high levels of stress. For this reason, generally the material CuAl10Fe5Ni5-C in line with ZOLLERN EBG is used for this application.This is corrosion-resistant to sea water and alongside a high degree of mechanical strength also demonstrates good cavitation resistance. It also offers high endurance strength in sea water, resulting in a high degree of reliability in continuous shipping operation.

This Pelton wheel for use in a water turbine demands an exemplary casting quality and dimensional accuracy. The Pelton buckets have to be ground according to a template with close tolerances. Dimensionally accurate casting through the use of ceramic cores manufactured using the Shaw technique allows us to reduce the degree of grinding required for the buckets. ZOLLERN supplies this type of component up to piece weights of appr. 1,200 kg finish machined and ground, statically balanced and tested using non-destructive techniques such as ultrasound and magnetic powder.

Forged components of Cu-PHC (SE-Cu)

Contact / terminal heads used in an electroplating plant for rollers. A high degree of electrical conductivity is necessary to ensure low-loss transmission of high current intensities. The right-hand component illustrates a bushing with complex internal machining (not shown). The weights of the parts lie between 1,000 and 2,500 kg.

Forged components CuCrZr

By adding appr. 1 % Cr and 0.1 % Zr, it is possible to almost double the strength of the material as against pure copper without appreciably reducing electrical conductivity. This makes CuCrZr ideally suited for parts subjected to high degrees of mechanical stress.

Forged components of CuAl10Ni5Fe4 and CuAl9Mn2

Forged and rough milled, these components permit trouble-free further processing and finish machining by the customer. ZOLLERN is able - subject to a suitable cross-section- to offer bars up to 10,000 mm in length.The bars illustrated here are used as inserts in plastic injection moulds.Their good heat conductivity properties help reduce cycle times.
